One of the greatest basketball players in NBA history, Kevin Garnett, has become an ambassador for the American bookmaker BetMGM, which belongs to the gaming corporation MGM Resorts.

According to Gambling Insider, Garnett will take part in marketing campaigns, promotional activities, social media content and fan events for the BetMGM sportsbook.

“Kevin Garnett brings a unique energy to everything he does, both on the court and off it. With the basketball season approaching, we look forward to welcoming Kevin to the BetMGM family and working with him on various fan-focused promotions,” the company said.

After retiring in 2016, Garnett became an assistant coach for the Los Angeles Clippers and also founded the gamification and content platform Gaming Society. During his NBA career starting in 1995, Garnett played for the Minnesota Timberwolves, Boston Celtics and Brooklyn Nets, was the Most Valuable Player in the 2004 season, and in 2008 won the Defensive Player of the Year award.

The basketball player also appeared in the 2019 film Uncut Gems, which was later nominated for an Oscar.

“I am very excited to work with BetMGM to share what they’re doing with my fans,” Garnett commented on the partnership.

Recall that recently the gaming corporation MGM Resorts International announced its intention to gain full control over its sportsbook subsidiary BetMGM to prevent competitors like DraftKings from doing so.

Currently MGM owns 50% of BetMGM, and the company’s CEO Bill Hornbuckle said that if they don’t gain full control of the sportsbook platform soon – DraftKings could do it.
