McDonald’s will temporarily close all 850 of its restaurants in the country, Bloomberg reports, citing a letter to employees from company chief Chris Kempczinski.
Yum! Brands, the owner of KFC, has not yet announced any restaurant closures. But it will suspend investments in Russia and pause network expansion for the time being.
It’s about time. I’m all for healthy food in a restaurant. If worst comes to worst I’ll cook it myself. I hate ready-made meals.
As far as I remember all the “Macca” restaurants are a franchise and, as they themselves stated and were even supposedly required by contracts, had to use about 80% of goods produced in the country – only the sauces were imported, and they said f**k it, sawed off a letter and we’re operating like before
