Wife brutally killed husband over losses at an online casino

Investigators have completed the criminal investigation into the case against a 38-year-old resident of Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky, who killed her husband with a single stab, reports the agency “KAMCHATKA-INFORM”.

As reported to the agency by the Investigative Directorate of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation for Kamchatka Krai, the citizen is accused of intentionally inflicting grievous bodily harm that negligently resulted in the victim’s death (part 4 of Art. 111 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation).

“According to the investigation, in October of this year the accused, being together with her husband in an apartment in a building located on Savchenko Street in the city of Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky, during an argument that arose because the man lost money in online casino games, took a knife and delivered one blow to the area of vital organs. As a result of the perpetrator’s unlawful actions the man died in the intensive care unit of a medical facility,” said Senior Assistant to the Head of the Investigative Directorate Elena Ilina.

It is reported that the woman repented of what she had done and cooperated with the investigation; she has been placed under house arrest.

The criminal case has been forwarded to the prosecutor to decide on the approval of the indictment.
