The Kuibyshev District Court of St. Petersburg extended the detention of video blogger Yuri Khovansky until January 8, 2022. He is accused of justifying terrorism because of a song about taking hostages during the Nord-Ost musical in 2002 in Moscow. This was reported by the united press service of the St. Petersburg courts.

The investigation explained its request to extend Khovansky’s detention by stating that it will not finish the investigation by November 8 – the previous deadline for holding the blogger in custody.

Khovansky’s defense and the blogger himself asked to place him under house arrest. Khovansky noted that he has apologized many times for the song and made a donation to a fund that helps victims of terrorism. He complained about the investigation’s inaction and about health problems that began in the detention center, reports Baza.

But in fact this is a demonstrative whipping. So others wouldn’t get any ideas. And the guy got caught up in it. Unlucky, didn’t catch a break.
