Gold Volcano is a pretty unusual slot, both in mechanics and visuals. I’ll say up front – the design and sound are top-notch, no complaints there. The reels are non-standard, there are a lot of symbols, the field can expand, and it’s interesting to watch. But I have mixed feelings about the gameplay. Despite the stated high volatility, wins drop often but almost always small – more like the behavior of medium-variance slots. The bonus game isn’t rare, but in most cases it’s x40-x50 the bet. Sometimes, of course, it’s better – I managed to hit x650 and x200, but those are more exceptions. The slot has a lot of different features, including wilds with multipliers, chain reactions, and field expansions. But those same features sometimes get in the way – they change symbols the wrong way or break a winning combo, which is annoying. The slot can give a long session, but I wouldn’t recommend playing with casino bonuses – it doesn’t hold the balance well, and clearing the wagering requirements is hard. The only time it really shines is when you up the stake, especially if the right effects trigger.

Gold Volcano – a very loony slot!

First, I’ve always liked slots with non-standard but large reels + a large number of symbols, not the usual three symbols per reel! Volcano is one of those slots + besides that the reels can also increase in size and the standard value isn’t final.

The slot is very loopy – payouts are small and rare but at any moment a payout can be very big! There are also WILD symbols with a multiplier and it can even lay out a line of those wilds.

In the bonus there’s a level system and the further you go the bigger the slot itself gets – it can become a very large square and then almost every spin will have matches – in that respect the slot is great.

From personal experience I hit x800 in the slot and very often some small thing like x100-x200 – I hit that really often! Had quite a few good sessions and I can’t say I’m unhappy with the slot’s return, but you have to spin it more carefully like all similar slots.

Overall the slot is good – I still play it now and it definitely has potential! However, even with a large number of spins I haven’t seen x1000 which is annoying.

And you spin, spin the reels, hoping for a miracle, for a big win that will cover all the previous losses. But no, the volcano seems to be sleeping, erupting only small sparks in the form of modest combos. And you start wondering whether it’s worth continuing at all. Maybe it’s better to look for another slot where the volcano is more generous.

Overall, you can play it if you’re bored, but don’t expect anything supernatural. There are slots that are more interesting, with bigger wins and a more exciting process. As it is, Gold Volcano is just something to kill a couple of hours with, no more. Maybe someone will like it, but I probably won’t play it much anymore.
