Starz Megaways Pragmatic Play slot review with free demo

Well, what can I say, Starz Megaways – people said it was a cool slot, but in practice it turned out kind of bland. Yes, there’s Megaways, and potentially a ton of ways to win, and bright design, but something’s missing, some spark. After a few hours of play there’s just an unpleasant aftertaste.

First, the graphics. Yeah, they’re bright and the colors are vivid, but it feels way too cartoonish or something. There’s no sense of a serious game, more like a kids’ arcade. The symbols are vague, not memorable. And the animation is jerky, like it was thrown together in a hurry.

Second, the gameplay. Sure, Megaways is fun, lots of ways to win and all that, but here it doesn’t really save it. Bonus rounds feel sluggish, the wins aren’t impressive. It’d be lucky to hit a bonus in 100 spins, and I never got more than 3 scatters. Often you just spin the reels for nothing, and that gets annoying. There’s no real dynamics, no sense of being involved in the process.

Third, the sound. That’s a mess. The sound design is monotonous and gets old fast. The music is just background, totally forgettable. Overall it feels like the sound engineer couldn’t be bothered.

All in all, Starz Megaways is a slot that’s sort of okay, but at the same time about nothing. A bright wrapper but empty inside. For me, there are much more interesting and engaging slots worth spending your time and money on. I’d recommend avoiding this one – I definitely wouldn’t suggest it to anyone.

Starz Megaways slot from Pragmatic Play. The name immediately reminded me of Starburst, and it actually turned out similar: Megaways structure with a constantly changing number of lines, and the goal is to catch combos with a large number of ways to increase the payout. The space and stars theme is reflected in the symbols – gems and shining stars. The main element is the star (wild symbol). When it appears in a winning combo, it expands to the whole reel and triggers a respin. Wilds can land on several reels in a row, which often gives nice combos. In the base game I had several results around 50x my stake when two reels turned into wilds at the same time. If you get lucky and catch two or three wild reels, you can get a noticeable payout, especially considering the game pays combinations both ways. I had about 100x my stake with two locked wilds during free spins. The bonus is pretty volatile – if wilds don’t appear early, you can finish with only about 10x your stake. But with lucky runs the game’s potential is high, and the mechanic itself is simple and clear. Overall Starz Megaways leaves a pleasant impression: dynamic gameplay, frequent small wins and rare but noticeable combos in the bonus.

I believe Starz Megaways is one of the best Megaways slots from this provider and there’s a good chance to hit the max payout of x10000. I personally play the slot very often and have had quite a few big wins of x700 and x1000+, and almost every session in the casino I manage to catch x200 to x400. I especially like that there’s an extra spin where you can get more free spins thanks to a larger number of scatters, and the extra spins in this slot give higher chances of a big win. I also like that the machine plays from both directions and, thanks to the large number of lines and the expanding Wild symbol feature, can give a big win even without the bonus game – at least more than once I caught x300 and x400 just on a single spin. Overall I think the provider offers a very good return to player of 96.5%, so there’s a chance to play with an active bonus, and my personal experience showed the machine can hold the balance for quite a while. I don’t recommend it to fans of fast bonuses, of course, because the slot often doesn’t award bonus rounds, and most often it’s 1-2 bonuses within 100 spins and usually with a small payout up to x30 of the stake.

Starz Megaways – a very simple slot to understand but still pretty good.

Symbols WILD – everything here depends on them, hitting a payout without wilds is almost impossible, but with them it’s quite doable! The wild symbol that lands covers the entire reel and of course the higher the megaways on that reel the better! it can act like 2 symbols or expand to about 10-12! and such wild symbols can appear on more than one reel.

In the bonus the wild symbols lock until the end of the free spins – you need three scatters for the bonus but it gives a respin and can bring more scatters! I even hit 5 scatters but the bonus outcome was bad.

Symbols actually pay both left-to-right and the other way round right-to-left! if you catch wilds in the center it’s almost guaranteed maxwin and btw here it’s real because I saw a streamer hit the maxwin in this slot live!

Of course it can also place a WILD on a small megaways – and then you definitely shouldn’t expect a big win.

Great slot where you can hit wins on the paylines and especially in the bonus you can catch a huge payout! but it also eats bankroll pretty fast.

I’ve been playing this slot a lot on my smartphone lately on my way to work, it’s very convenient, the symbols are big, unlike other slots with the Megaways system
