The loan fee is €2,000,000, and in case of a purchase the striker is offered a four-year contract.
Barcelona reports that Alcácer’s buyout will cost Dortmund €23,000,000 + €5,000,000 in add-ons. On Tuesday he passed a medical ahead of the move and will be given the No.9 shirt.
“FC Barcelona and Borussia Dortmund have reached an agreement on the loan of player Paco Alcácer for the season. The German club will pay €2,000,000 to Barcelona and the player’s salary, – says the Barcelona statement. – Borussia Dortmund has the option to buy the player for €23,000,000 + €5,000,000 additionally, and FC Barcelona reserves the right to refuse this option. Barcelona will receive 5% of any future profit from a sale of the player by Borussia to a third party.”
Alcácer told Dortmund’s website: “I am really looking forward to the opportunity to play in the Bundesliga. It’s one of the best leagues in the world, and in Dortmund with these incredible fans and the famous south stand there is something magical.”
Sporting director Michael Zorc added: “We are very pleased that Paco Alcácer chose Borussia Dortmund, and we are confident that a player of this type fits well into our style.”
Alcácer came through Valencia’s youth system, and in August 2016 he moved to Barcelona on a five-year contract for £27,300,000. There he scored fifteen goals in fifty-one matches, won the La Liga title and two Copa del Rey titles.
It turned out to be a good transfer for Borussia! Now they’ll at least have some chance to compete with Bayern 😉
