Recently I played this slot again, and overall it kind of kicked off a bit of nostalgia.
The “Builder Pigs” mechanic (accumulating multipliers on stacks of bricks) is brilliant. Every spin in the base game becomes tense because you’re waiting for the wolf to blow the house down and collect all the multipliers. And when you collect a full set – it’s just an explosion of emotions!
Free spins are a whole other story The wolf walks across the field, blows symbols away and reveals new ones with multipliers. Payouts here can be huge.
Overall what I want to say: the slot itself holds balance pretty poorly, it’s rather hard to hit the bonus round here. At the same time if you do hit it, a lot needs to go right for you to cash out, the slot’s design looks cool, if you enter it for the first time you’ll definitely like it, but if you play it long-term I think you’ll get bored of it. Still, it’s worth playing just not for too long, the volatility here is rather high for me, although overall you have to understand the provider – the game itself isn’t simple in terms of return.
Big Bad Wolf slot by Quickspin, based on the Three Little Pigs fairy tale.
The slot has a tumbling mechanic while wins keep happening and a fill meter where the pig symbols turn into wilds, plus there are regular wilds as well. In my play, turning all the pigs into wilds gave a payout even bigger than in the bonus game.
The bonus game starts when three wolf symbols land, and for me it often happened that two symbols would land and the third would come on a respin. The main thing is that during the bonus the meter also fills and the pigs turn into wilds. Also in the bonus you can get plus four extra spins and a x2 multiplier on wins in the final part of the bonus. A retrigger is also possible – I hit it a few times, but without the pig meter filled it won’t bring a big win. A wolf symbol that lands while the pig meter is filled can spoil a win, since it blocks winning combinations.
I enjoy playing this slot, although I haven’t seen a win greater than x200 in it.
Game from Quickspin – how many nerves it wore out for me back in the day, I shouted at it, yelled for it to start playing properly for me and at some point it worked, it hit, though I hope the x’s aren’t as big as in NoLimit, but you can have a good time. The main characters in the game are three little pigs in different houses and the big bad wolf. The slot has five reels, three rows of symbols, twenty-five fixed paylines. There’s no progressive jackpot in the machine, bet from ten rubles, usually from twenty and the max depends on the casino. The slot has a high RTP, ninety-seven-something percent, which in theory should give fairly frequent wins, but of course that’s not always the case – there were stretches of like three hundred spins just dead. Small wins can be gotten by making combinations from the traditional card values shown as numbers and letters. Bigger wins come from hitting the four pig symbols; there’s a wild symbol in the form of a beehive. Every time a winning combination is made a respin is triggered and the Pigs Turn Wild feature is activated, which is why gamers love this video slot. The re-spins happen on a cascading principle, when winning symbols disappear from the field and new icons fall down into their place. Respins continue as long as paid combos land on the reels. Three wolves give the bonus game where you can win a decent sum – there are retriggers in the bonus. Interesting game, in the sense of dynamics and engagement, I like it. Lately not every casino has it, but you can find it, and whether to play or not is up to you.
I know people who still play this slot even in 2025, which for me is, to put it mildly, strange, because the slot is so “bad” in payout that even at the time of its release you could find much better options.
Payouts given in the base game are minimal, keeping your balance while waiting for the bonus game is below pathetic.
Hitting the bonus game is a “miracle of miracles”, and despite the seemingly simple way to get a big win (the accumulating wilds), collecting them is practically impossible. The slot’s ability to realize its potential is extremely low and it almost never does – the most you can see in the “best” bonus is under x1000, and it barely exceeds 400-500 bets… the slot is terrible in terms of payout.
Even playing with big stakes makes no sense here, because the slot is practically incapable of triggering the bonus game from the first spins, like, at all. A pure money-grab slot. Rating 0 out of 10. Awful, not recommended for play under any strategy, including for wagering requirements.
One of the oldest online slots from Quickspin – Big Bad Wolf!
The slot is very old and this provider’s slot was my first ever! Surprisingly, it still hasn’t been removed even after 13 years!
For some reason it still has almost no equivalents to this day, although the mechanics are pretty interesting – similar to Gonzo’s Quest but completely different.
The bonus works like this: 1 – 3 wolves land on reels 1-2-3 and give free spins – during them you need to catch matches and for every 2 matches the piggy becomes a WILD, and at 6 matches all 3 piggies will be WILDs + on top of that there is a default wild that you don’t need to trigger! In the bonus you can even get an x2 multiplier but you need to catch moons – collecting moons gives a small retrigger + multiplier!
Actually the payouts I wouldn’t call super – but they’re not tiny either! When you unlock all the pigs the slot can play for quite a while and effectively build up a decent multiplier! The potential is of course nowhere near new slots and providers but it can comfortably hit x1000! I also like that retriggers in the bonus fall quite often and the bonus itself is pretty easy to hit.
In my opinion the most famous, and also the most interesting game from the provider Quickspin. Very colorful. I didn’t get any big wins in the base game, but I did hit some nice bonuses. The biggest win I remember was at Joy Casino: bonus rounds at 25 rubles, with extras, it came to about 30 thousand, so that’s roughly x1200. That happened once, usually it’s 1000-5000 on a bet of 25, still interesting of course. The game is fun and beautiful, definitely recommend!
The three “pigs” and the sly Wolf)
For some reason I remembered the old, old fairy tale about the three little pigs. That’s when I decided it was a “sign”! And I immediately jumped into the slot that cultivates this “piggy theme”, namely the slot “Big Bad Wolf” by Quickspin.
At first glance everything seems as usual: five reels and twenty-five winning lines, the slot has a Gonzo-like effect… I’m sure players know about the respin when a winning combination lands and the possibility of continued re-spins… No need to explain the wilds either, it’s “clear even to a hedgehog”). But the “bonus” game is worth stopping on in more detail… It triggers if three “Wolf” symbols land on the first three reels, then you get 10 free spins. The bonus has its own twist: when a new bonus symbol “Full Moon” appears. From that moment the game acquires new possibilities… to hit a fat win.
And now about the game itself – I played “Big Bad Wolf” with both bonus and my own money… With the bonus it turned out “juicier”, that was when I caught “three wolves” on the first two reels and one “Full Moon” already in the bonus. The maximum win then was about KU x100. With my own money the result was more modest, the biggest win was no more than x40 and that was without the bonus game. When I did hit the bonus, I dreamed of seeing a big win, but alas the first win was x20, and the second about x40. I played for several days in bursts of 10-15 spins, always betting 12.5 rubles per spin. The deposit was about 200 rubles. A few times it went up above 600 rubles, then dropped to a hundred and rose again. In the end I stopped at 600 rubles.
…This “Big Bad Wolf” slot is peculiar, it can immediately dump on you, like it did for me – on the first three spins a win with KU x30. Or it can be very dynamic and suck your money for a long time. There were also fairly frequent smaller wins x1-x2. Overall I liked the slot, it has big potential if you get lucky, but the main thing is not to get carried away… I think I’ll give it a subjective rating of 6 out of 10.
Played a few times with my own money, my biggest win was with a multiplier of x=40, still didn’t get any bonuses…)))
The slot’s design is kind of clunky, way too cartoony and like a cartoon of not the best quality. In any case it doesn’t really attract me to play with my own money, but I’ve played this slot many times in tournaments and when it wants to pay out, it does it cool, with lots of free spins, wilds, and extra bonuses in the bonus round.
The slot machine BIG BAD WOLF is very peculiar; on my first encounter to be honest I didn’t even like it. But after playing a bit, learning more, looking through screenshots and seeing a couple of big wins on streams, I decided to spin this slot with a little fanaticism. I made a deposit and launched the game. At first the slot showed no signs of life, the balance slowly but surely melted before my eyes. That even started to upset me, but then the slot hit a couple of times in a row and added more wilds, and then six more times, and in the end all the pig symbols became wilds, and the slot started pouring out wins – I even began to think this would never end. But all good things come to an end, and here came the slip-up, and all the piggies turned back to pigs. Still, the slot paid out x200 during that time, which allowed me to continue and wait for the bonus game. The first bonus I caught really disappointed me, because from that long-awaited bonus I managed to get only a sad x30 and change. I didn’t get more in that bonus. Waiting for the second bonus had a similar effect – with great difficulty I scraped together x50. I was even disappointed, but I kept playing. After ten or so spins luck smiled on me again and I caught three wolves; they appeared one by one and the slot kept playing. The bonus game started very interestingly: from the start all the piggies opened and became wilds, on top of that I hit all the moons and for some reason the wolf decided to leave this nicely stacked bonus… After finishing the bonus I managed to pull x400 – not x1000, but that was quite enough for me. I left the slot on a pleasant note and cashed out. So, in addition to the above I’d like to add: the slot has potential, but it can also stubbornly eat your whole balance and not give you any chances. In conclusion, the slot gets a solid four out of five – it showed me part of its potential. You can play it, but there’s no point in getting stuck on it; the slot either pays or it doesn’t. Just like all slots, only this one can gobble everything up so fast you won’t even notice. It’s worth it, the slot deserves attention. It can pay out. Try it and may Fortuna always be on your side. Good luck.
For a long time my gambling attention just couldn’t get around to the Big Bad Wolf video slot. I saw screenshots of wins, some reviews, but the real picture of the slot only formed when I finally decided to feed ten or so foreign rubles through its reels. And it turned out there aren’t really reels in this game – boxes fall from top to bottom inside the straw house of the first piglet, and that’s where the game starts. We get to the second and third houses if we’re lucky and the wolf visits Nif-Nif (that seems to be the name of the piglet who built the straw house). Lucky because three wolf symbols trigger 10 free spins.
I won’t say this slot immediately made me happy. On the contrary – it chewed through my ten as usual, giving free spins with a tiny payout. But that was enough to understand the developers’ idea and the game’s payout potential. So I returned to the piglets and the wolf many times afterwards. And I’ll say this – it’s pure pleasure to hit it when Big Bad Wolf is warmed up. Wins of x20-x30 can follow one after another with short breaks. And in the base game you can sometimes get even more than in the bonus. In any case, in free spins this slot didn’t give me more than x50-x70, and about the same could happen in a single run of the regular game. That’s explained by the fact that with every two consecutive wins on a line, the number of wilds increases by exactly one piglet. And when there are 4 wild symbols active in the game (the piglets plus the main wild), a good win, even in the x50 range, can’t hide.
Finally, I’ll add that it’s worth trying your luck on this slot. Especially if you haven’t played it yet.
P.S. It also surprised me that the wolf in the free spins destroyed the third house and actually caught the pigs. A kind of alternative ending with a happy ending for the Gray. And you’re happy for him, because if he reached the piglets it means the bonus round treated you well with the number of free spins. If you don’t understand what I mean, then you haven’t played Big Bad Wolf yet!)
Cool, very nicely drawn slot. And the whole motif about the three pigs and the wolf is attractive.
The only problem for me is that for some reason I can’t win anything on it at all, even after waiting for the bonus, I still can’t get anything on the pigs)
Well done, and as far as I understand, following the well-known, already legendary NetEnt “gonzo qest”. Here the reels also don’t spin but fall, and if a winning line occurs, the symbols that won disappear and others fall in to replace them. Only QuickSpin went further and added wilds to the game that transform from the pig symbols. The more the slot keeps spinning without stopping/losing, the more pigs will turn into wilds. You would think that if everything is random and as some claim the machine kind of plays with the reels, then in theory this could go on forever, since half of the playing symbols become wilds, but of course that’s not how it works. The wolf will definitely appear to prevent a line from matching, or a line just won’t come up at all.
The bonus symbol is the wolf, which, as usual, always appears in pairs, so nothing new here)
When you do catch three wolves, the bonus game starts – in this slot that’s free spins. They also added a moon symbol into the mix. If it falls, it goes to the top meter, and when you collect three it adds more spins.
Sometimes it spun the bonus for quite a while without stopping, but for some reason I still didn’t get rich. Despite the fact that the bet in the slot is clearly not the smallest. 25 cents if I’m not mistaken, at least where I was playing.
I got to know this slot from QuickSpin called Big Bad Wolf just a couple of months ago. Although I know it came out quite a while ago. A few years for sure. The slot is pretty interesting, although you wouldn’t say so at first glance. I played it at one of the casinos that uses this platform among others. I don’t remember the name anymore. In the end, playing with rubles, I turned 500 rubles into 1200 rubles. Then I went off to play other slots, because from my experience I know that the chance it will take everything back and even push you into the red is 99%.
Well, now a bit about the slot itself.
Standard five reels and twenty-five (25) winning lines. At first glance nothing unusual. BUT. When a winning combination hits, a progress starts that leads to the top symbols becoming wild. For one of the three symbols to become “wild” you need the winning combination to occur twice in a row. Then one of the pigs (there are three of them and they are the top symbols) becomes a wild symbol. If the winning streak continues, the remaining two symbols also become wild. And they remain so until the streak is broken. The game itself works on the Gonzo principle. That is, when a winning combination appears, it disappears and other symbols fall into its place.
There is also a bonus game. When wolves fall on the first three reels. Basically there’s nothing extraordinary about it, except that when the moon symbols land and accumulate you get retriggers and multipliers.
The game itself is made quite interestingly. Graphics are average, the sound as well. The slot is very high variance. At least in my case there were serious drops and rises. You can win a lot. Math be with everyone here. And of course you can lose as well. I liked the slot.
Big Bad Wolf from Quickfire is pretty interesting because it can throw out wins not only in the bonus, but also in the base game; the bonus in this machine is more of an add-on, I wouldn’t say it’s unimportant. It gives free spins with a chance to get another +2+2 free spins with an x2 multiplier and a retrigger (a repeat of the bonus round)
Besides the bonus round, in the base game it can pay out well, because when a winning combination lands, the winning symbols disappear and you, so to speak, get another chance to catch a line. The more often you hit a combination, the more wilds unlock for you – you can unlock up to 4 wilds. 1 wild is the base one, given at the start of the game; the 2nd-4th wilds are those pigs that Big Bad Wolf is hunting, so the more combinations land, the more pigs you unlock (pig-wilds) and the more wilds you’ll have. Although the slot rarely pays more than x100, because the paylines are not as generous as in other games, x20-30 payouts happen pretty often – because of that, I think it’s not hard in this game to clear a deposit bonus and similar kinds of bonuses.
Also besides the base game there is a bonus game, which is basically the same as the base one – it also unlocks wilds, etc. But there are also free spins with a chance to hit a retrigger+ and get extra free spins, and free spins with an x2 multiplier when moons land on the last reel.
The slot itself is pretty interesting; I rarely play it because it gets boring fast. Last time the slot paid well both on a 25 kopeck bet and on a 1.25 UAH bet at Marathon casino.
There are almost no downsides to the slot, except that it gets boring fast.
I highly recommend this slot to play!
