The slot “Break Away” has a bit of a twist. It kind of creates the illusion and transports the player to a hockey match, which fuels the excitement.

The “Break Away” slot has five reels and 243 ways to win with a minimum bet from 0.50. There are also “wild symbols” that “fall” like columns. I saw them in the bonus game as “two columns”. During play we hear the game’s action sounds and music. But as soon as at least three identical symbols appear in a row (left to right), the music intensifies, and the winning symbols “shatter like ice”, and new ones “drop down” into their place. There are also “Scatters” – three “fiery pucks” trigger a “bonus” game with 15 free spins. Wins in the “bonus” game differ from the normal mode only by the presence of multipliers (from x2 to x10). If winning combinations are consecutive, the multipliers will increase. It’s no secret that you can see a win multiplied by ten, and with a good bet and combination that can already be a very “fat” win. Personally I’ve mostly encountered relatively modest wins from x25 to x100 so far.
Almost forgot, this slot has its own gimmick: randomly, outside the reel area, there’s a power scuffle between hockey players. When they collide on one of the reels, three wild symbols in the form of a “column” appear.
I’ve heard reviews of this slot both good and mixed; personally I liked this dynamic slot. My rating is 7 out of 10.

A pretty interesting slot from Microgaming – Break Away. I had seen it before, but for some reason I never wanted to play it until I signed up at one casino, created an account in UAH, and then opened this slot. The minimum bet there was 50 kopecks (in UAH), so I decided to give it a try, especially since the minimum bet lets me play with my small bankroll of 100 UAH.
And then it all started: every time I made a deposit at the casino where I first tried this amazing slot, I always opened this game and every time I enjoyed playing Break Away.
I liked the slot not because of the bonus game, although it is actually very good in this game; to fully understand the bonus, you have to play it yourself, even if not for big stakes, and you will understand that the word “bonus” is hard to put into words. The idea is that when a winning combination lands, the next combination also boosts the win. In short, you need to play.
I did not get anything special in the bonus, not once did the win reach 100, but what I liked in the game were the wilds, which, by the way, also appear in the bonus game on the last 3 reels, but most often on the second-to-last one and the one before it. But I got 3 columns of wilds on the last 3 reels outside the bonus, even without a multiplier, and most often that was a win up to x300. In my opinion, the game also has a feature that activates randomly when 1 hockey player or 2 hockey players collide, and a wild appears where they collided. The best combination I got in this slot was when a hockey player landed on the 2nd reel and wilds fell on reels 3-4, then the payout was also pretty decent.
Adding up all the pluses in this game – the feature with the hockey player, wilds on reels 3-4-5, the bonus game – I want to say that this is one of my favorite Microgaming slots, if not my favorite.
Most often I spin it on quick spins, that way it seems more interesting to me.

Microgaming was never known for decent sports-themed slots, and honestly this slot was no exception, first of all there is an identical, one-to-one football video slot from this provider, and second, as always, the graphics do not stand out in any special way, and the sounds are annoying (although about 50-60 percent of slot sounds annoy me)
There are a total of 243 pay lines here, Microgaming used to like releasing slots like this, but apparently recently they realized they had crossed the line and now mostly make games with 20-30 lines, and in this slot, in my opinion, that is too much.
It is nice, of course, that the slot has no card symbols, they tried to make everything in a hockey style: skates, hockey players, puck – the slot really has a hockey spirit, but we all know that Microgaming, if it wants to, can do better; maybe this attitude is because hockey is not so popular and there are no widely accepted superstars, but the design looks like a three out of ten at best.
The system here is similar to the famous Gonzo, that is, when you get a winning combination the symbols burn, they fall down, and new symbols drop into their place, but again, whether in a similar football slot or here, it seems to me a little off-topic. The usual bonus in the form of free spins also does not add any extra value to this slot, you need to collect three pucks and the free spins will start. And just like in the football slot there is a wild that appears only in the middle, here too there is a wild in the form of a symbol with the game name.
I do not know which slot was introduced first – the hockey one or the football one, but it is obvious that neither was taken seriously. Personally, I got not a drop of enjoyment from playing them.

Break away is a slot machine from Microgaming. It’s hockey-themed, and I think this slot has quite a few fans. The only disappointing thing is that Microgaming has made about 10 clones of this slot, just with different themes. That’s pretty lame in my opinion.

There are 243 lines, and that’s cool. The minimum bet is 50 cents, which will definitely be a big turn-off for some, since that’s quite a lot, and I often decide not to play it myself because losing 50 bucks on this slot is no problem at all. So the reason I rarely play this machine is simple – it’s scary to lose money.

There are stacked wilds on reels 3, 4, and 5, and there’s a special random feature that can make wilds on 2, 3, 4, or 5 reels (but only 1). I’m also happy that it has a similar system to Gonzo’s Quest – winning symbols get destroyed, and new ones appear in their place. You can catch them for a long time, considering there are tons of wilds on reels 3, 4, and 5. The only downside is the lack of a multiplier on wins in the base game, which is a big minus for me.

The free spins are awesome because a multiplier is added to each win, up to 10x. I once hit free spins with a total result of about 300 bets, which is really exciting.

I recommend this slot to everyone, it’s very interesting, and I really enjoy playing it. The only downside for me is the relatively high minimum bet of 50 cents; I don’t really want to risk money for such a slot, better to spin in DOA.
