Even though the book mechanic of the slot game Mysterious Egypt is already getting old, I really liked it for its individuality thanks to the extra symbol in the bonus round. The designers drew all the symbols very beautifully and added sound effects with different audio for line wins or scatter hits. Even ignoring the fact that the game has high volatility, wins here are pretty frequent, probably due to a decent return of 96.5%, which is a very good figure for book slots. I also like when these games have a boosted max payout of x7000, because it encourages active play. In the bonus game you get 2 revealing symbols which gives an increased chance for a big payout; on top of that the slot often awards extra spins. At least, even with an active bonus the slot held the balance well for a long time, and because of that I cashed out every bonus on this machine. Most often the bonus game appears within about 30 spins; if it doesn’t hit, it’s better to come back later. I couldn’t catch anything above x1000 here, but there were a dozen payouts around x400+ and once I saw about x800.

The theme is standard, Ancient Egypt, nothing new here, but I like the mechanics. In each base spin a random special symbol is chosen that can expand and cover the reels. I had times where the bonus repeated and covered the screen with cheap symbols, thanks to which I won around two to three hundred bets. Overall Mysterious Egypt can be called a successful slot in its category. It’s simple, bonuses hit regularly, winning combinations occur more often than in most book games, and that makes it a decent option for low-stakes play.
