A medium-high volatility slot, the balance holds more or less, it doesn’t drain too hard in the base game, and you can usually stay playing it for a while, but the flip side is that it’s hard to hit big here, and hitting a juicy bonus is rare. The game is well drawn, animated and voiced, I often hop in simply because it’s pleasant to play. We play as a redheaded Bounty Hunter, and the main mechanic here is curtain-reels that cover the whole reel with random multipliers – and there are 2 types of curtains (wilds): regular wilds with random multipliers and bounty wilds, whose multiplier levels up if our heroine wins duels. This mechanic works in all game modes and big wins, up to the max win (which here is as much as x20000), are always possible, but in the base game I personally never caught more than x150, and in bonuses the best I saw didn’t go over x700. In the bonus free spins this mechanic develops further: in the normal free spins, besides an increased chance of curtain drops, the hunter’s multiplier levels up until the end of the spins; in the top tier you can get extra spins and a super spin with 2-5 random wilds for the hunter’s victories and level-ups; and in the epic we start at level two and with a super spin, plus the multiplier for the regular wilds can be upgraded – but in my opinion the epic bonus turned out very weak and can easily fizzle, it’s all too tied to the curtains, which the game may not give at all or give at the wrong times. There are also 2 mini-bonus features for x60, but those are more for high rollers – there’s potential, but it’s expensive. There’s an extra chance and bonus cracking, and you can try – often I cracked into the top tier on the first or second try, but you definitely shouldn’t keep forcing it if it doesn’t hit right away. The slot’s mechanic is interesting, but hitting a big one is hard. I’ll add that Hacksaw likes Wild West themed slots; besides this one there are at least 4 more: Wanted, Duel at Dawn, 2 Wild 2 Die, Le Cowboy, which are also interesting and worth checking out.

Another slot with my favorite expanding wilds mechanic. The game really reminded me of Duel at Dawn. Done in the same “wild west” style, only the main character is a woman. And the bonus game idea is similar too.

There are three types of bonus: the regular one for three scatters, the top one for four, and a hot mod for five. I wouldn’t even call the 5-scatter bonus a full hot mod, more like a half-hotmod. It doesn’t give any special advantages compared to the regular and top bonuses. New here is the ability to “break through” and upgrade the bonus. I never got lucky with that breakthrough – no matter how many times I tried, the “pass” never hit, only the bronze coin. I hit all kinds of prizes; the best score was x750 in that half-hotmod. In the top ones there were wins around x200-300, and in the regular ones modest x100-150. In almost every session it held the balance well thanks to 1-2 wilds appearing and a good line paying out. Even though I like this kind of mechanic, I wouldn’t call this slot my favorite. In almost every session it held the balance well.
