Should you worry about fake slot machines?
On many forums there’s a common belief that some online casinos use fake slot machines. How true are these claims? Should you be worried about fake slots?
Of course, it’s unlikely there’s a casino where every game is fake. Building such machines is very labor-intensive, and it’s unlikely someone would set up a place where every single slot is just a “script.”
We do know about a copy of Gonzo Quest that was used in scam casinos, but it was noticeably different from the original and appeared a couple of years after the original release. If someone wanted to fake every slot in a casino, they’d need a pretty big budget and a huge amount of time.
On top of that, they’d have to keep up with new slot releases and add them to the catalog promptly. So it’s not worth it. It’s much simpler and more profitable to operate under license.
Worried your favorite slot might be faked? Even one fake machine isn’t profitable for a casino. Reputable gambling venues are periodically inspected by special commissions. If third-party software is found, the license can be revoked. If you still have doubts, you can send a query to the developer to confirm what software is being used in the casino you picked.
